Veterinary Assistant - Elk Park Animal Hospital

Located in beautiful Pagosa Springs, Elk Park Animal Hospital is a longstanding, full-service veterinary practice known for compassionate care, genuine teamwork, and a commitment to both pets and their people. The hospital provides comprehensive veterinary services for companion animals as well as large animals, with in-house diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, wellness care, and specialty and integrative treatment options. We are seeking a Full Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience as a Veterinary Assistant, but we're willing to train the right person. Additionally, flexible availability, including some Saturdays, is desired.

Qualifications 

• Experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred

• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures. 

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities 

• Assist Veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures. 

• Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines. 

• Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records. 

• Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.

Compensation starts at $15.16/hr and goes up to $20/hr, depending on experience.
