Animal Hospital of Brooklyn, a CareVet partner, is seeking a dynamic part-time veterinarian to join our collaborative, tenured team.

The Opportunity

This is a great fit for a veterinarian who wants to be part of a team with a genuine family-like atmosphere. Ideally you'll bring surgical skills and a desire to make a difference in a community whose mission is to provide authentic care - compassionately serving as a unified team, in harmony with our clients. This is a part-time role covering Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Examine patients to assess health and diagnose problems
• Treat and dress wounds
• Perform surgery
• Test for and vaccinate against disease
• Operate medical equipment, including x-ray machines
• Advise owners on general care, medical conditions, and treatment options
• Prescribe medication
• Collaborate closely with the team to deliver high-quality care

Qualifications

What You Bring

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree
• Licensure (or eligibility) in New York
• Surgical skills a plus
• Genuine compassion for both pets and the people who love them
• Skilled, precise hands and excellent dexterity handling animals
• The composure to make fast, sound decisions when an animal's wellbeing is on the line
• A real understanding of animals and their behavior
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Pay

$60,000-$85,000 base annually (part-time). Exact salary depends on position, location, and experience.
