The Opportunity

We're seeking a compassionate part-time veterinarian, open to working some Saturdays, to help our thriving practice grow. All levels of experience will be considered - the ideal candidate is friendly, personable, and a team player who wants to do great medicine alongside people they enjoy. You'll work alongside a team that's friendly, collaborative, and genuinely dedicated to an enjoyable work-life balance. Our experienced support staff and veterinarians create a professional, welcoming environment while helping clients care for the companions they love.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Examine patients to assess health and diagnose problems
• Treat and dress wounds
• Perform surgery
• Test for and vaccinate against disease
• Operate medical equipment, including x-ray machines
• Advise owners on general care, medical conditions, and treatment options
• Prescribe medication
• Collaborate closely with the team to deliver high-quality care

Qualifications

What You Bring

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree
• Licensure (or eligibility) in Rhode Island
• Willingness to work some Saturdays
• New grads welcome - mentorship is built in
• Genuine compassion for both pets and the people who love them
• Skilled, precise hands and excellent dexterity handling animals
• The composure to make fast, sound decisions when an animal's wellbeing is on the line
• A real understanding of animals and their behavior
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
