$120,000-$150,000 base salary + production and a $220,000 signing bonus package for eligible full-time veterinarians!

At CareVet of Southern Illinois in Marion, IL, we're looking for an experienced veterinarian to join us as Medical Director at our established multi-doctor small animal hospital, proudly serving the community for more than 34 years.

You'll lead and mentor three Associate DVMs, help shape the hospital's clinical direction, and continue doing what you love - practicing veterinary medicine.

You'll guide medical standards, mentor fellow veterinarians, and support continued clinical development while partnering with the Practice Manager and operations team on the hospital's success.

Previous Medical Director experience isn't required. If you're an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership skills and a passion for mentoring others, we'd love to talk!

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor three Associate DVMs while maintaining an active clinical caseload

• Oversee professional veterinary services, medical standards, and patient care policies as the Veterinarian-in-Charge

• Partner with the Practice Manager and operational leadership to support hospital goals and continued growth

• Foster a collaborative clinical environment focused on quality medicine, doctor development, and exceptional patient care

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree with experience in small animal general practice

• Strong clinical judgment and a desire to lead and mentor a veterinary team

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach

• Passion for quality medicine, compassionate patient care, and building relationships within the community

• Previous Medical Director experience is welcome but not required
